Piotr Medrzycki

Piotr Medrzycki, senior researcher at CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics - Agriculture and Environment Research Centre) in Bologna, Italy, where he coordinates the laboratory of ecotoxicology. His researches has always regarded the problems related to the use of pesticides. MSc (Warsaw) and PhD (Bologna) in applied entomology where he worked on the methods of mass rearing of entomophagous insects for biological control of crop pests. For the last 25 years he has been focusing on the bees. The main fields of experience are: effects of pesticides on bees and elaboration of test methods, but also application of honey bees in monitoring of environmental pollution. He is a coordinator of APITOX - an international task force of independent scientists involved in the research of the relationships between agrochemicals and bees. Participates in many national and EU research projects.
